About the event
Following an overwhelmingly successful run in Mumbai, where most of the featured artworks were acquired by enthusiastic collectors, KIAN Foundation is delighted to reintroduce bhūmi in Pune—this time with an exciting new selection of fresh works by renowned artist Shampa Sircar Das. Curated by KIAN Foundation’s founder Aarti Naik, bhūmi continues to explore the emotive relationship between people and the earth. Shampa’s evocative use of color, sacred geometry, and organic motifs has deeply resonated with audiences. Her works, known for their spiritual undertones and visual harmony, have been described as “deeply immersive and effortlessly suited to contemporary living spaces”—striking a personal connection with viewers who have loved them enough to want to own them. Thoughtfully priced, the art has been well-received by both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers. This Pune showcase offers visitors a rare opportunity to view an entirely new collection—fresh works created by the artist after the Mumbai exhibition. These pieces retain the same soulful essence while introducing new perspectives and vibrant energy.
KIAN Foundation, in collaboration with Lucia Lounge, hosted an exclusive preview of our celebrated show Bhumi by artist Shampa Sircar Das. Art and its emotional depth were best understood when experienced rather than merely viewed. With this in mind, we collaborated with Lucia Lounge to create an atmosphere that stimulated the five senses and intellect. Inaugurated by Anita Agarwal, Chairperson of FLO Chapter, Pune who is herself a collector of Shampa's work. An art walk conducted by the artist herself helped attendees forge a deeper connection with her work and understand the inspirations guiding them. A specially curated food and beverage menu allowed guests to taste the colors as mesmerizing visuals of flora and totems surrounded the space. We invited everyone to celebrate Bhumi at an escapade where art came alive, creating an everlasting bond with the viewers.
